Email Invites

Why Use Invites Settings Feature in BuddyBoss Platform?

If you want to earn more from your community there must be plenty of members. As an Admin, you can invite people to join the community but this job is more suitable for the existing members. They will invite their friends, colleagues or the people with the same mind set up.

So, by enabling this you are allowing your members to send invitation emails to the non-members.

NOTE: Before we start if you are viewing as an admin you will not see any restrictions or changes as Admins have full rights and permissions. Please make sure you View As a non Admin member to view any system changes!

Configure Invites Settings

  1. Go to BuddyBossComponents. Scroll down to find Email Invites. Click on the Activate button.

Now members can send email invitations to non-members to join the network. Hit the Settings of Email Invites.

Here, you can allow the user to edit the Email Subject and Content. Furthermore, you can set up the profile type. Then, press the Save Settings button.

  1. Go to your profile and click on the 3 dot section. Email Invites will popup, click it.

You will get an interface with necessary fields to send emails to the non-members. Fill the field- Recipient Name and Recipient Email. You can send a joint invitation to more people. Just click on the Plus icon (+). Here, users are allowed to edit the email subject line and text. Lastly, don't forget to press the Send Invites button.

For successful email sending, it will show a confirmation message like below-

To cancel the email, the sender just needs to click on Revoke Invite.

Now from backend, the admin can see who has sent an invitation with

  • Sender Name

  • Recipient Name

  • Recipient Email

  • Date Invited, and

  • Status

Also as the community owner you can cancel this invitation by clicking on Pending- Revoke Invite

If you don’t want to allow members to edit the Email Subject Line and Text field go to Email Invites Settings. Unselect those fields and save the changes.

There will not be any field in the frontend from now on.

Allow non-members to register new accounts. For that, navigate to SettingsRegistration. Tick in Enable Registration

  1. As an Admin, you can restrict who will send invitations according to the Profile Type. Go to Buddyboss - Settings Invites and allow the members to select the profile type of invitee. Don’t miss out on pressing the Save Settings button.

Click on Profile types. Here, you can Edit any profile. Suppose you want to edit the Teachers profile.

If you scroll down below, you will see an option- Email Invites. After selecting your preferred profiles click the Update button on the top right side of this page.

See how it looks in the frontend. Aside from the Name and Email field there will be Profile Type available.

One more amazing restriction you can do is allowing the particular profile type to send invitations. Hit on Save Settings to save the changes.

This is how you can set up your Invites in the community and control it from the core.
