Using Maintenance Mode

Why Use Maintenance Mode in Your Community

In this tutorial, you will learn to configure the Maintenance Mode page for BuddyBoss Theme 2.0. Maintenance Mode is really useful when you have to test some new features or plugins and you don’t want your users to visit your site while you are making changes.

As always we recommend using staging sites for testing any features or updates first and not directly on your live site.

Configure Maintenance Mode

  1. Navigate to BuddyBoss - Theme Options - Maintenance Mode. Enable the Maintenance Mode. Now, to make your audience understand the issue let’s set the Page Title- Maintenance Mode and add Page Description.

  1.  A feature image can give a nice more visual  vibe for this mode. Turn on the Featured Image option and Upload the image you want to display. At the bottom of the page you can add some text with the help of Bottom Text

  1. Using the bottom text you probably want to explain a bit of what's going on so let them know some information about when the site will go live again maybe with the Countdown Timer.

  2. Enable Countdown and add your go live date in MM/DD/YY format. Now turn on the Featured Content and Section Title. In the Section Content you can include text or contact form code just like the video provided at the end of this tutorial.

Finally you might want to point them to your other social platforms which we can do by Enabling Social Links and add the social media platform links of your community. I

Save Changes.

  1. Now if any community member tries to login he or she will see this Maintenance Mode. But the admin can always login.

That is how you can configure Maintenance Mode in your website.

NOTE: Kindly be advised that at the moment Maintenance Mode is only available on the BuddyBoss Platform. This feature is not available yet on BuddyBoss App.
