Creating a new discussion using a reply from a different discussion is possible on the BuddyBoss Platform. Just go to Forum - Discussion where you want a reply to become a new discussion. Choose the reply and click on the three dots or ellipsis and click Split. 

Then select New Discussion and hit on Submit.
