How will your Activity Feed Act.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to allow your members to edit their activity posts, with the ability to modify the post’s text content, photos, documents, and privacy. You can also set time limits for when an activity post can be edited after it has been published.


You must enable the Edit Activity option in the BuddyBoss settings to allow users to edit/update the published posts.

NOTE: By default, this option is disabled when you first activate the BuddyBoss Platform.

Enabling the Edit Activity Feature

You must enable the Edit Activity option in the BuddyBoss settings to allow users to edit/update the published posts. 

To enable the option:

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard > BuddyBoss > Settings > Activity.

  2. In Activity Settings, mark the checkbox for Edit Activity and select the duration for which your users will be allowed to modify the published post content.
    You can choose Forever OR 30 Days OR 7 Days OR 1 Day OR 1 Hour OR 10 Minutes.
    NOTE: The Edit button on activity feed posts is displayed depending on the duration chosen in the Edit Activity Settings.

  3. Click the Save Settings button.

To edit a published post:

  1. Click the Edit button to open the Edit Activity popup.

  1. Make the preferred changes to the text content, photos, documents, and privacy and then click the Post Update button.

NOTE: Each edited activity post will display an (edited) marker to indicate that the post was updated after publishing by the author.
